Top Tip 2; Next Look At The BathroomTop Tip 2; Next Look At The Bathroom

After the kitchen comes the bathroom.  In this day and age the bathroom has come into vogue.  No longer is this room just about functionality and hygiene, these days it has become an area of relaxation and style.  This is the place you prepare for the day ahead, or clean away the stresses of the day behind you and begin to relax - so important in the busy lives we lead.  It is a special room with a special purpose and needs to reflect this to add value to your home.

While new, modern bathrooms can provide a luxurious treat on a daily basis, there are ways to improve older or tired bathrooms without breaking the budget or having to go through the process of a major refit which may not reflect the investment you could make when compared to the value of your home.  Take the time to decide what areas of your bathroom most need to be improved and work out what budget you can apply to the project.  You will be surprised what a difference you can make with good planning and some effective research.

Is your bathroom well ventilated?  Would investing in a heat/fan/light fitting make a difference?  Your shower fitting may be old and tired and not doing the job for you anymore and other tap ware in the room is possibly outdated. Something as simple as replacing these items can give your bathroom a whole new look.  There is a huge range of products available on the market today, covering all price ranges that can give the room a new look with minimal cost and disruption.

The bathroom usually has a small floor area in proportion to the other rooms in the house.  New flooring can give the room a new look and give you the opportunity to tie in other design ideas to improve the look and feel of your bathroom. This could be as simple as tying in a highlight on your walls with a motif or some tiling.

And then there are the added touches that can be made to add a luxurious look and feel to your bathroom.  Towels and other bathroom linen available today are rich and abundant in colour, from flannels to bathmats, allowing you to enhance your décor while you have the pleasure of treating yourself to the feel of soft beautiful towels.  And small items like candles can have a great effect.

There are always professionals on hand to assist you with your ideas or to enable that larger project if it fits your budget.  Your bathroom is arguably one of the most important rooms in the house when it comes to resale and deserves careful consideration when it comes to adding value to your home.
